Repairing a Popped-Off Acrylic Nail
Nail Repair Basics
If your acrylic nail has come loose, it's important to reattach it as soon as possible. Leaving it off can cause damage to your natural nail and lead to infection.
To repair a popped-off acrylic nail, you will need the following materials:
- Nail glue
- Nail file
- Buffer (optional)
- Tea bag (optional)
- Superglue (optional)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Clean the Nail Surface: * Remove any debris or old adhesive from the nail. * Use a nail file to gently buff the surface of your natural nail. This will help the glue adhere better.
2. Apply Nail Glue: * Apply a small drop of nail glue to the back of the acrylic nail. * Press the nail firmly onto your natural nail. * Hold it in place for about 30 seconds to allow the glue to set.
3. Reinforce with Tea Bag (Optional): * If the broken area is large or the nail is very thin, you can use a tea bag to reinforce it. * Cut a small piece of tea bag and place it over the broken area. * Apply a small drop of glue over the broken area and stick the teabag strip on it. * Press it flat to ensure it sticks just enough to reinforce the crack.
4. Buff and Shape (Optional): * Once the glue is completely dry, you can use a nail file to buff away any excess glue or tea bag material. * Shape the nail as desired.
5. Secure with Superglue (Optional): * If you want to ensure extra strength, you can apply a small drop of superglue along the edges of the acrylic nail. * Allow the superglue to dry completely before handling the nail.
