The Dallas Mavericks are still breathing, barely. The Mavs kept the Boston Celtics from a sweep and for the moment their NBA Finals hopes are still alive after a resounding 122-84 win Friday night.
Luka Dončić scored 25 of his 29 points in the first half of Game 4 as the Mavericks built one of the largest halftime leads ever in a finals game. The Celtics, who led by 19 points in the first quarter, couldn't keep pace in the second half as the Mavericks shot 60.6% from the field and 44.4% from three-point range.
The win gives the Mavericks a 2-2 tie in the series, which shifts back to Boston for Game 5 on Monday night.
The Celtics are still the favorites to win the title, but the Mavericks have shown that they can compete. If they can win Game 5, they'll have a chance to close out the series at home in Game 6.
But the Celtics won't go down without a fight. They're the more experienced team and they have home-court advantage. If they can win Game 5, they'll be one win away from their 18th NBA championship.
Game 5 of the NBA Finals will air on ABC on Monday, June 19, at 8:30 p.m. ET.
