Tony Danza, born Anthony Salvatore Iadanza on April 21, 1951, initially pursued a career in boxing. As a professional boxer, he held a record of 12 wins (all by knockout) and 3 losses.
In 1977, Danza faced Lou Mascetti in a televised boxing match. Despite being knocked down in the third round, Danza emerged victorious via a first-round knockout.
Transition to Acting
After retiring from boxing due to injuries, Danza pivoted to acting. He is best known for his role as Tony Banta in the sitcom Taxi (1978-1983), for which he received multiple Emmy nominations.
